Blessing Donor Letter June to September 2024

As a part of the CTK Blessing, your generosity enables so many local missions efforts! We wanted you to see what the Lord has been up to this summer! Rather than recap things into summaries that hide the details, we decided to share some specifics with you this time. It's a lot to read, so maybe just browse a few of these links and take a moment to thank God for how He is meeting real needs here in Whatcom County through the body of Christ.

I'll start with this...it's our tradition to kick off the school year by taking middle and high school students out to Camp Firwood over Labor Day weekend. They make new friends, build into Christian friendships, connect with a leader who will be part of the youth group, and most importantly step away from the distractions and worries of everyday life to encounter the God who loves them! The CTK Blessing provided $11,200 in scholarships to 34 families this year which meant 51 kids were a part of something they're likely to remember for a lifetime. Worshipping with them late into the night that Sunday was certainly a highlight of my year!

Each month Faith Whaley, our Foodshare & Farm Director puts out a one-page update to all those connected with that ministry. Check out the August edition to meet one of our Foodshare partners, hear about events we've hosted at the farm, and more!

Response Team service projects stretched us beyond our previous experience and goals this summer, both in terms of complexity and size of the projects our partners needed help with. Here is just one example: a conference room we built out in the back warehouse of World Relief's office to accommodate the local office's rapid growth.

And finally, we usually talk about our community partners as either one big group or by highlighting specific projects or collaborations with them. Over the last year or so, I've included an article in each edition of CTK Life, our quarterly magazine, showcasing the partners who serve kids and families, our unhoused neighbors, those with disabilities, survivors, and our hungry neighbors. Take a closer look and maybe zero in on one partner you could stop and pray for right now!

On behalf of all of us on the Blessing team (Keri, Faith, Daylee, Nathan, Wendy), thank you for the vital part you play in faithfully equipping our volunteers with what they need to serve the community!
